About us

Welcome to Birdsong Alley, where warm hospitality awaits you.  Featuring soft neutral palettes, our rooms are elegant, cozy, and are kitted with very comfortable queen beds. We are located on the outskirts of the township in a quiet neighbourhood, just 2 short kilometres from the famous Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa.  You will enjoy lovely birdsong and sweeping mountain views from the deck. A full cooked breakfast is available on weekends and public holidays and a deluxe continental on all other days., both featuring our famous homemade muffins!  

Rayone and Rhys look forward to welcoming you. We both have backgrounds in hospitality and Birdsong Alley realizes a dream that began 30-ish years ago. For guests who may be missing canine companionship, just ask for the Customer Cuddles Department and Rufus and Reeva will be happy to assist!

Our rooms are named for two of the birds that frequently visit us . Choose either our blue-themed room, Piwakawaka, or our green-themed room, Korimako.  Piwakawaka features views of Mount Dumblane.

Welcome to our elegantly designed rooms, where comfort meets tranquillity. The soft, neutral tones create a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for relaxation. Featuring luxurious queen-sized beds with plush pillows and soft throws, our rooms provide a restful night's sleep. The soothing decor is enhanced by stylish artwork and a chic chandelier, creating a serene ambiance.

Enjoy essential amenities including mini fridge, coffee and tea station and complimentary water and snack box. The modern ensuite bathroom offers a spacious vanity, well-lit mirror, complimentary toiletries made with natural New Zealand ingredients, and fluffy white towels. Stay connected with high-speed Wi-Fi and wireless device charging available. We are happy to provide towels for guests visiting the thermal pools.
